It’s no secret that the vistas around the Park City area are some of the best in the West.  Whether you’re looking out on to historic Main Street, or out on to the surrounding wilderness and mountains, you’ll never tire of the view!  There are quite a few restaurants in and around town that offer diners not only amazing cuisine, but stunning views as a part of the experience.

Delight in the Spectacular Surroundings at The Glitretind

One of the best outdoor dining decks in Park City can be found at the Glitretind Restaurant, located in Deer Valley.  The Glitretind offers guests a true global dining experience.  Enjoy their romantic dining room, or step outside on to their large deck and take in the views of Deer Valley ski runs and wildlife passing by.  Don’t worry if it’s a little chilly; the 5-diamond staff will happily drape you in a cozy blanket or light one of the heaters on the deck to keep you toasty.  The Glitretind was honored last year with the Sante Restaurant Award – the only Park City restaurant to receive this accolade!  Executive Chef Zane Holmquist is known for his innovative menu creations that often include locally sourced items. With the new summer menu about to launch, you’ll delight in Chef Zane’s new creations!  A new dinner selection that looks particularly sumptuous is the Poulet Rouge Chicken & Egg.   Please be sure to call ahead to make reservations, and request the deck when you call.  View their new menu at https://www.steinlodge.com/ .

Another fantastic spot to dine and drink in the view is Ruth’s Chris Steak House.  Located at the edge of the Park City Golf Course, and overlooking a multitude of Park City Mountain Resort ski runs, you’ll truly enjoy an evening dining on their large terrace, adjacent to their super chic dining room.  Ruth’s Chris is known around the country as THE place to go for exceptional steaks and seafood, and this Ruth’s Chris is the only one in Utah.  Their U.S. Prime Steaks are broiled to perfection, and you’re liking and served with your choice of delectable side dishes.  If you’re looking for other selections other than steak, Ruth’s Chris offers amazing Live Main Lobster, Sizzlin’ Blue Crab Cakes, and Lamb Chops to sink your teeth in to.  Located at 2001 Park Avenue, you’ll want to call (435) 940-5070 in advance for reservations.  http://www.ruthschris.com/ If you’re looking for a view of Historic Old Town in Park City while you dine, Cafe Terigo hosts an amazing outdoor patio, nestled amidst trees and situated perfectly for some great people watching while you dine.  Cafe Terigo offers menu options such as Herb breaded Utah trout with citrus butter, served with fresh green beans and cauliflower puree, or for those looking for meat-free options, check out the House-made Herb Cheese Ravioli with Sauteed Asparagus and Mushroom Butter Sauce.  My favorite item on the menu is their Grilled Artichoke with Lemon Basil Aioli – delicious!

June Fun in Park City

A favorite event that occurs each June is the annual Savor The Summit dinner, which takes place literally right down the middle of Main Street and is presented by the Park City Area Restaurant Association!  This nearly mile-long dining experience allows dining guests a chance to reserve a seat at the participating restaurant of their choice and enjoy an evening of exceptional culinary adventure.  This year, the festivities will take place on June 25th at 6 PM.  Along with the dining, there will be live street music performances, bee and wine tents, and an after-dinner street dance. The Grande Table meandering it’s way down Main Street really adds something special to the evening, as it will provide exquisite dining for around 2000 guests right in the heart of Park City!  Dozens of restaurants participate, so be sure to reserve your space early.

Savor The Summit – A Truly Unique Dining Experience

June also ushers in the weekly Cruiser-Palooza and Plaza-Palooza events which take place at Silver Star Ski & Sport and the Silver Star Cafe.  Bring your own bike, or rent a cruiser bike from Silver Star Ski & Sport for a small fee and get ready to ride!  The group partakes in a nice and easy ride to a not-so-far location, and then heads back to the Silver Star Plaza to enjoy an evening of food and live music under the stars.  Food and music are served up from 6PM-9PM each Thursday evening beginning June 16th and rolling through September, weather permitting.  Top the festivities off your evening by staying only steps away at one of the chic and fabulous Silver Star Condominiums.  This new slope side community sits amidst stunning mountain views, and offers immediate access to miles and miles of hiking and biking trails.  The Silver Star Village has loads going on as well, so you’ll never be at a loss for things to do.  Silver Star offers a variety of amenities for you to luxuriate in as well; a heated pool, work out facility and hot tub to name a few.  with all of the services Park City Vacation Rentals has to offer, you’re assured a care-free, fun and fantastic Silver Star get-away!

Enjoy an Evening Out At Plaza-Palooza

Another great community event in the Park City Silly Market, which begins on June 10th, and takes place each Sunday throughout the summer months.  The Silly Market kicks off at 10AM and ties up at 5PM, and there is plenty going on to keep you  busy all day long if you choose!  Local vendors and farmers line lower Main Street selling their wares and offer everything from custom made leather belts to kids clothes.  Aside from the unique shopping, there are numerous food vendors that offer a variety of dining choices including authentic lobster rolls, Navajo tacos, and fresh roasted corn.  There are plenty of demonstrations and music happening on the main stage, and loads of fun for the kids too.  Visit http://parksillysundaymarket.com/ to check out their weekly events and vendors.

Must Try Park City Cocktails:

Twice a year Park City hosts a cocktail contest open to all local area bartenders.  It’s a fantastic event with proceeds going to a local charity, and it allows attendees a chance to taste-test some amazing and unique drink concoctions.  A panel of judges deliberates and assigns points to each entry, and after numerous very competitive rounds, a winner is crowned.  This spring, the lucky recipient of the coveted Spring Cocktail Contest top honors was the Deer Valley Grocery Cafe, and they won with their Flower & Pine cocktail.  A very sophisticated beverage, it is crafted from Beefeater Gin, St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur, Zirbenz Stone Pine Liqueur and Peychaurd Bitters.  What’s fantastic is that the winning cocktail is available at Park City restaurants and bars throughout the area.  However, if you would like to go straight to the source, head over to the Deer Valley Grocery Cafe, sit out on their charming deck overlooking a serene pond and the slopes of Deer Valley, enjoy a bite to eat and sip away on this award winning creation.

If cocktails aren’t your thing and you’re a bigger fan of craft brews, head to the top of Main Street and delight in one of the seasonal offering at the Wasatch Brew Pub.  They always have the usual favorites on hand, like their Wasatch Hefe-weizen.  This traditional German-style unfiltered wheat beer is created using a hybrid Bavarian yeast strain which brings with it the flavors of clove, licorice and banana.  This is a truly authentic Hefe and has won multiple awards at the American Beer Festival!  Wasatch Brew Pub also offers seasonal favorites, and their yummy summer offering if the Raspberry Wheat beer.  The brew is crafted from their traditional wheat beer, and then raspberries are added to kiss it with the taste of summer…delicious!  Wasatch offers many more locally made beers, visit them at 250 Main Street for lunch on their patio and a sampling of their beers.  Another great local brewery is Red Rock Brewing Company, located in Kimball Junction.  They too offer a wide variety of hand created beers.  What’s great, is they also have homemade Rootbeer and Cream Soda for those non-beer drinkers at the table.  Cheers!

Delicious Hand Crafted Beers at Wasatch Brew Pub

Another great stop on the dining and cocktail tour is Talisker on Main, a Talisker restaurant that features an urban ambiance one would expect to find in Manhattan.  Along with their fabulous menu, they offer one of the areas best wine lists and have won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for their stellar wine offerings.  If you request a table in the Wine Room, you’ll be surrounded by bottle and bottles of wine all housed in thier modern wine cellar…it’s my favorite area to dine in within the restaurant!  They also have a very chic outdoor dining area that includes a lovely outdoor fireplace – a fantastic setting to sit back and enjoy an amazing glass of wine on a signature Park City Summer evening!

When you’re done enjoying some fabulous mountain style cocktails, head back to your luxury vacation home located in the Silver Lake Village area of Deer Valley.  The Red Cloud vacation home is nestled in at mid-mountain level in Deer Valley and is just across the street from the slopes of the resort, which gives you great mountain biking and hiking access.  You’ll relish in an evening topped off sitting in your private Jacuzzi Tub, or let all of your stress melt away in the steam shower located in the Master Bedroom.  Sit out on your deck and enjoy the mountain views, or really unwind and have a massage therapist visit you at Red Cloud while your very own private chef prepares dinner in your gourmet kitchen.  Sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it?
