Twice a year Park City hosts a cocktail contest open to all local area bartenders.  It’s a fantastic event with proceeds going to a local charity, and it allows attendees a chance to taste-test some amazing and unique drink concoctions.  A panel of judges deliberates and assigns points to each entry, and after numerous very competitive rounds, a winner is crowned.  This spring, the lucky recipient of the coveted Spring Cocktail Contest top honors was the Deer Valley Grocery Cafe, and they won with their Flower & Pine cocktail.  A very sophisticated beverage, it is crafted from Beefeater Gin, St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur, Zirbenz Stone Pine Liqueur and Peychaurd Bitters.  What’s fantastic is that the winning cocktail is available at Park City restaurants and bars throughout the area.  However, if you would like to go straight to the source, head over to the Deer Valley Grocery Cafe, sit out on their charming deck overlooking a serene pond and the slopes of Deer Valley, enjoy a bite to eat and sip away on this award winning creation.

Another great stop on the dining and cocktail tour is Talisker on Main, a Talisker restaurant that features an urban ambiance one would expect to find in Manhattan.  Along with their fabulous menu, they offer one of the areas best wine lists and have won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for their stellar wine offerings.  If you request a table in the Wine Room, you’ll be surrounded by bottle and bottles of wine all housed in thier modern wine cellar…it’s my favorite area to dine in within the restaurant!  They also have a very chic outdoor dining area that includes a lovely outdoor fireplace – a fantastic setting to sit back and enjoy an amazing glass of wine on a signature Park City Summer evening!
