Burgers at Altitude – Best Park City Burgers!
Whether you enjoy sinking your teeth in to a juicy gourmet beef burger, or you prefer the non-meat variety, Park City has some pretty amazing burgers to tempt your palette. Park City restaurants take a lot of pride in this summer time delicacy, now all you have to do is decide which one is your favorite! Once you’ve completed your “Tour de Burger”, you’ll surely want to unbutton a button or two, and head back to your home-away-from-home here in Park City.
Admittedly, there are quite a few delicious burgers to sample in Park City. My favorite, hands down, is Stein’s Burger! Head up to The Glitretind Restaurant for this 8-ounce Angus beef masterpiece! Topped with aged Vermont white cheddar, heirloom tomatoes, crispy fried onions and served on a bakery fresh sheepherders bun it is a true treat! Although you can choose a green salad or house-made fries on the side, I highly recommend the Orzo Salad! What makes this burger experience a complete event is to sit outside on the Glitretind’s gorgeous deck, enjoy the view, and perhaps pair your burger with a tasty selection from their fantastic wine list. Although I am a fan of red wines, there’s something about a nice, crisp white wine in the summertime. Bon Appetit!
Another notable burger lovingly crafted in Park City is the No Name Saloon’s Buffalo Burger. Located right on Main Street, Their burgers are made with 100% pure buffalo meat, and are lean and tasty! Served alongside the burger are their house-made “Buffalo Chips” with a side of their own Southwestern Style Salsa. You can choose how you would like your Buffalo Burger to be dressed, as there are four different riffs on this popular burger. Try the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, loaded with grilled onions, cheese and BBQ sauce. Also notable, and my favorite menu item at the No Name, is the Turkey Burger. Free range turkey and cilantro make this a yummy choice! The No Name also offers Chicken burgers and tasty veggie burgers, so there is something for every taste! Pair your burger with one of the many local brews the No Name has on tap, take a seat on their rooftop deck and enjoy a great view of Main Street while you enjoy this very unique burger!
Another “not-to-miss” burger experience is at the High West Distillery, located just a block off of Mina Street on Park Avenue. High West uses local Nieman Ranch beef, Rolling Hills Ranch Bison, and a special proprietary seasoning to start things off right. Next, they add caramelized High West Whiskey onions, a house cheese blend that includes Gruyere and Blue cheeses, and fried shallots all loaded on to a homemade brioche roll. Whew! That’s a mouthful! Served alongside house cured pickles and fries, this gourmet burger does not disappoint. Of course, you’ll want to pair this burger with one of their famous whiskey or vodka cocktails! My choice is the Cowgirl Kiss, which includes champagne and pomegranate juice mixed with their own vodka. Refreshing on a warm summer day!
There are certainly other great burgers to try in Park City – hopefully this small sampling will help get you started on your own quest for that perfect high altitude burger! Dig in!
