Nothing beats walking up and seeing the ground covered in freshly fallen snow. I was lucky enough to have that pleasure this weekend. This March has been one of the best for spring skiing that I have seen in a long time. My family and I decided to take advantage of the snow and hit the slopes at Park City Mountain Resort on Saturday and had a great day! Even thought the resort is scheduled to close on April 14th maybe we will get lucky enough to have them extend the season!

When most people think of spring break they think of beaches and bikinis. While that is fun and great why not try something a little different? While many people have caught onto this spring break ski trip idea it is still overlooked by most. Little do people realize that spring is the perfect time to escape to the mountains rather than fighting the crowds at the beach. Here are a few reasons why March and April are a wonderful time in Park City.

Spring Gruv at Canyons Resort: This annual event taking place March 22nd – 31st bringing fun to Canyons Resort every spring and is loved by visitors and locals. After a day of skiing enjoy free live music at the outdoor stage in the Village at Canyons Resort. Performers include bands such as Toots & The Maytals, Euforquestra, and Mississippi Allstar. Enjoy food, music, fun, and of course skiing! On March 23rd come on up for the famous Pond Skimming contest. Watch costumed skiers and snowboards attempt to get across the pond. One of the best days of the year!

Last Day of the Resorts: This year Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and Canyons Resort will be shutting off the lifts for the last time of the season on April 14th. This is your last chance to ski these world class resorts for the 2012/13 ski year. Enjoy warm temperatures, bluebird skies, and plenty of snow. All three resorts end the season with a bang offering a party for their loyal patrons. If at Deer Valley make sure to check out the “beach” for a glass of wine or cold beer, if at Park City head to the Corner Store for music and a tall boy of PBR, and if at Canyons relax at The Farm with après snacks.

Easter Egg Hunt at Park City Mountain ResortEaster in the mountains is a wonderful experience. The breathtaking scenery in and around Park City sets the stage for a very magical holiday for visitors and their families. There is plenty going on for visitors of all ages. The Easter bunny visits Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort does their annual Easter egg hunt, and Canyons Resort does an amazing Easter Dinner Celebration.
