November in Park City is a beautiful time of year. By this time of year, the mountains are covered in snow and the little city becomes a skier’s paradise. Here are some of the ways you can spend your long Park City Thanksgiving Weekend.

Spend Your Weekend on the Mountain

Thanksgiving is the first weekend Park City Mountain Resort opens its chairlifts for skiing and snowboarding. The resort is spread out over 7,300 acres of alpine wilderness making it the largest ski resort in North America. Park City Mountain has more than 348 trails, 41 lifts, 8 terrain park, and dozens of restaurants for when you need to refuel. Because of its large sizes and hundreds of trails to choose from the resort is great for all levels of experience.

New to the resort this year is a free guided ski tour. The Silver to Slopes Historic Mining Tour explores the mountain’s historic mining buildings and hidden relics. Each tour is led by an experienced guide and is recommended for intermediate level skiers. The tour departs daily from the Park City Resort Base at 10 a.m. and from the Trail Map at the top of Bonanza Lift at 1 p.m. At the end of the tour, you will get a commemorative pin.

This year’s winter season is anticipated to start on November 21. The mountain is open every day from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Thanksgiving Dinner

If the thought of shopping, cooking, and cleaning on your vacation sounds like something you want to avoid then you are in luck because Park City is known for its world-class cuisine.

The Brass Tag at Deer Valley Resort offers a 3-course prix fixe dinner for Thanksgiving. The meal is served on Thanksgiving from 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. and has a variety of dishes including prime ribs, roasted turkey, and a pumpkin tart.

Butcher’s Chop House in downtown also has a special Park City Thanksgiving dinner. The 2-course prix fixe menu is served from 2 p.m. – 11 p.m. and features traditional favorites including turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and candied yams.
