Does dressing up in a seriously ridiculous costume, speeding down a ski run screaming towards and icy water filled 100-foot pool of water on skis sound like a good idea to you?  Well then, you need to register to compete in Canyons Resort annual Pond Skimming contest!  If not, you absolutely need to go watch the folks who make competing in this “sporting” event an annual event!  With one costume more ridiculous than the next, you’ll be sure to be entertained while enjoying a fun afternoon cheering on your favorite contestants.  There is sure to be burgers cooking on the grill, cold beverages, and lots of great people watching at this local’s favorite rite-of-spring party.  After Pond Skimming, head down to Canyons resort village to partake in the free, outdoor concert – Little Feat.  Pond Skimming takes place a short but scenic gondola ride up the mountain, right by Red Pine Lodge.  After the event, ski, ride, or take the gondola backdown the hill for the concert, this begins at 3PM.  This event is for skiers and non-skiers alike to enjoy so don’t be deterred if you’re not on skis.  Canyons offers gondola passes priced for pedestrians

If that’s not enough, Canyons delivers more spring fun with yet another free concert at their resort center location, John Brown’s Body.  This quintessential Reggae band  fromBoston,Massachusetts, tours the world rocking their “Future Roots” style of music to loads of  loyal fans.
