There are so many great things to do in Park City all year round. There’s the outstanding skiing and snowboarding during the winter months on “The Greatest Snow on Earth.”

During the summer months, we enjoy warm summer days and cool nights — perfect for enjoying plenty of outdoor activities. One of the favorite activities of both locals and visitors alike is golf in Park City. In the Park City area, there are many golf courses that can be enjoyed by golfers of any level.

The courses in Park City have some of the most spectacular settings. Imagine golfing among trees, ponds, and lakes, along with the gorgeous towering mountains in the background. And, just like our ski areas, you can get off the plane at Salt Lake International and be playing a round of golf in just a couple of hours.

And, if you want to improve your game this is a great place. Because of our high elevations, you’ll find that your golf ball will go farther. You’ll be boasting to your friends about the really long drive you had! And our mild summer temperatures will keep you comfortable.

While there are many golf venues in our area, here’s a look at two favorites — Promontory and Park City Golf Club.

Park City Golf Club

The Park City Golf Club is one of the finest public courses in the area. Nestled in the heart of Park City, this course has ben consistently ranked as one of the top courses in the Intermountain region.

This municipal golf course got its start in 1964 as a nine-hole William Neff-designed course. It was redesigned in 1979 to its current 18-holes, with the 18th being redesigned by William Neff Jr. This hole is one of the classic finishing holes in the entire state.

Promontory Golf Courses

Nestled in one of the premier residential communities of the area are two private courses—The Dye Canyon Course and the Nicklaus Painted Valley Course. Painted Valley is said to be the toughest Nicklaus course in Utah and was rated as the 3rd best new private course by Golf Digest.

The Dye Canyon course is well known for its level playing field — nestled in the beautiful surrounding vistas. The Promontory golf community was named “Golf Development of the Year” by Golf Inc. magazine.

While the Promontory courses are private, you may still find the opportunity to play these courses. You can ask your concierge or your contact here at Park City Rental Properties. These people usually have “inside information” on how to play golf at Promontory.
