Park City Mountain Opening Day
If you are like most who visit Park City during the winter season, you are excited for another wonderful ski season here on Park City Mountain. Each year, Park City Mountain opens around Thanksgiving, allowing visitors the opportunity to spend their holiday going down the powdery slopes. Rainfall has been more abundant this year, allowing for an earlier to start to the ski season. Park City Mountain’s opening date will be on November 18th, the week leading up to Thanksgiving. Come experience an extended stay with us here in Park City so you can enjoy opening day. The event typically showcases the many upgrades completed to the mountain and have an opening celebration. This year, Park City Mountain is expected to have things return to normal, including not requiring facial covering, dining reservations, or vaccine cards to visit the premises.
Guests will be able to enjoy 300 different ski runs, 43 ski lifts, and six terrain parks. There is a dedicated learning area for beginners to explore that welcomes new skiers and snowboarders. If a formal lesson is needed, the resort also offers introductory sessions to help you get comfortable. Visitors will find the newest gear for purchase at the ski shop, as well as rental gear, so you can leave your own gear at home, making the trek easier to Park City. Guests will also find enhancements made to the dining area at Canyons Village. You will also find a reserved parking system in place this winter season to decrease traffic congestion on and around the mountain. Nearby Turkey Trots
While Park City will not be hosting a formal Turkey Trot this year, visitors can find one in the local communities in the region. Turkey trots are local races that typically sponsor a local charity organization in time for the holidays. The race can be a variety of lengths, but typically includes a 5K. Turkey trots are a great way to support a great cause while also getting in a quick run in the morning before you enjoy a lovely Thanksgiving feast. Visitors to Park City can find the Sandy’s 2022 Turkey Trot 5K taking place in Sandy from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on November 12th. Most of the remaining turkey trots take place on Thanksgiving Day. This includes the Cottonwood Heights Thanksgiving Day 5K in Cottonwood Heights and the Cold Turkey Run in Millcreek, a suburb of Salt Lake City. The Cold Turkey Run will feature a large socialization after the race, live music, and massages to enjoy as well.
Thanksgiving Feast at Local Restaurants
Visitors to Park City will be able to attend one of the many dinner reservations at local restaurants in Park City for Thanksgiving. Grub Steak Restaurant offers their traditional dine-in menu along with their Thanksgiving Day menu too. Their offering of premium steak, prime lob, and lobster is absolutely delicious but so is their turkey dinner that features traditional entrees and sides. Enjoy a fine dining experience with Courchevel Bistro on Thanksgiving. They offer a family style dinner that features classic Thanksgiving items such as traditional turkey, roasted pumpkin, and huckleberry compote. You will find a variety of incredible restaurants here in town if you do not wish to make your own feast back at your vacation rental.
