One of our favorite annual events is right around the corner — the Kimball Arts Festival. This year, the event will be held August 12 to 14, right on Historic Main Street.

This event is the largest fundraiser of the year for the prestigious Kimball Art Center. All admission fees will go to keep the organization’s exhibitions and programs free to the public.

The Festival began in 1979 and continues to grow each and every year. This is a juried festival, where artists from around the nation submit their works for consideration. This year more than 200 artists will have their works on display in several categories including ceramics, fiber, drawing, painting, photography, glass and many others.

In addition to the visual artists, the Festival will host many other activities. Live music can be experienced throughout the event at several event stages. This year, you can hear the sounds of acts such as Better Off With The Blues, the Nick Cicalese Combo, Talia Kens and others.

One of the most popular activities is the Kid’s Area. Here, the younger set can participate in different art activities including interactive drawing, painting and making clay creations. It’s a great time for all!

The Festival After Dark event keeps the vibe going after the Arts Festival ends for the evening. You can enjoy films and discussions from the Sundance Institute or enjoy a live concert by Brandi Carlisle at Deer Valley.

If you want to enjoy a little exercise before the Festival, join the Yoga Fest on the roof of The Parkite on Saturday and Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.

No art festival would be complete without some tasty food offerings. Throughout the Festival, you’ll find all sorts of culinary delights, everything from food truck favorites to artisan tastings. And of course, don’t miss the beer garden, complete with cool beverages and yummy foods.

This Art Festival is a favorite of ours at Park City Rental Properties because it supports the Kimball Art Center’s commitment to providing their exhibits, gallery tours and educational program to the community.
