While Park City does not offer any official Memorial Day events you will find some with our neighbors who are within driving distance. Eagle Mountain City is a short drive away and offers their annual Memorial Day Service at Pony Express Memorial Cemetery. This short program offers a way to honor our fallen veterans with a live service and music. This event is a must see for anyone with military history traveling to Park City for Memorial Day.
Explore the Utah Olympic Park
Park City may look familiar to you as it has hosted the Winter Olympics in years past. The Utah Olympic Park is where all of the competition and activities were held and has since been open to the public. Make sure to stop by the Utah Olympic Park on May 26th for the summer season. The park has a variety of exciting activities for the summer season that are sure to bring some fun into your trip. You can enjoy zip line courses with the ‘extreme’ and ‘freestyle’ courses each offering something different. Additional activities include the scenic chairlift ride, drop towers, the summit and canyon courses, and so much more. The best way to enjoy all of these activities is by purchasing a ticket to an early season gold pass session. Starting on May 26th the first 275 participants to purchase this daily pass will be able to enjoy unlimited access to all of the activities at the park for a 3-and-a-half-hour session. The pass is only $75 per person with sessions being from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The only activities not included in the pass are the summer bobsled experience and guided tours; everything else is fair game! Ride Down the Park City Alpine Slide
You can feel like a professional luge racer when you make a visit to the Park City Alpine Slide. This activity is found at the Park City Mountain Resort and is a towering slide being over 3,000 feet long making it one of the longest slides in the world. Purchase passes at Park City Mountain Village and enjoy the scenic chairlift ride. The Park City Alpine Slide is open to ride daily from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Shop Around Historic Main Street
Park City is an old city with its roots nestled in the mining community from the 1800s. Since then, Park City has featured Historic Main Street as the backbone to the city. This historic neighborhood is where you will find historic buildings and some of the finest shops, restaurants, and art galleries. Fine dining is as alive as ever on Historic Main Street. Stop in Yuki Yama for bold and masterful sushi dishes that use fresh ingredients and traditional tatami. Pair your meal with some noodles or a bottle of your favorite sake. Silver Star Café offers apres-ski dining with its New American cuisine on the menu. It has been featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” TV show and has been a staple in the community. Sample Whiskey at High West Distillery
Park City is also home to High West Distillery, one of the biggest names in whiskey. Their Saloon location is found in Park City and offers a variety of delicious food options along with their tasty spirits. The Saloon will be reopened for the summer season by the time Memorial Day Weekend hits and with it comes a lot of fun. Enjoy the menu that includes lamb shank, burger, prime ribeye, rocky mountain trout, and more. The drink menu is even more vast with plenty of spirits to sample or have a cocktail made for you. Only guests ages 21 and up and allowed entry into the Saloon.
