We all know about the most popular activities in Park City, such as skiing, snowboarding or fishing and golfing. However, there are many other “off the beaten path” activities to enjoy in the area.

Helicopter / Cat Skiing

While most of us think of a day on the slopes as getting on a chairlift and then enjoying the ride down the mountain, there’s an exciting alternative to enjoy a day on the slopes: helicopter or cat skiing.

Imagine being taken to the top of the highest peaks aboard a helicopter. You’ll fly over the terrain, land gently on a peak, and then shush down the usually untouched landscape. When cat skiing, you’ll be taken to areas far from the crowds inside comfortable snow cats.

Frisbee Golf

During the summer, who doesn’t enjoy throwing the Frisbee around with friends? Two local resorts — Canyons and Park City Mountain Resort — offer Frisbee golf courses that can prove to be more challenging that just throwing the disc back and forth. Similar to regular golf, you’ll follow a course with the goal of landing your Frisbee into a cage or basket. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon.

Take a Drive

Get out of town and enjoy the surrounding areas with a driving tour. There are several nearby scenic byways and backways where you can just sit back and enjoy the scenery. Both the Mirror Lake Byway and Guardsman Pass Scenic Backway are gorgeous drives, especially in the autumn months when the leaves are changing colors. Don’t forget your camera, as the picture-taking opportunities are boundless. Bring along a picnic to enjoy as well.

Fat Biking

It’s a strange name for an increasingly popular activity, but it’s fun and exhilarating. You’ll be enjoying a mountain bike ride on snow, but on a bike outfitted with massive tires. This is a great sport when the skiing and snowboarding conditions are less than ideal! White Pine Touring offers rentals and guided tours.

Walk a Dog

If you’re a dog or cat lover, spend an afternoon at the Rescue and Rehab Ranch. This 16,000 square foot facility houses dogs and cats looking for new homes. You and your group can come out to the ranch and help the staff by taking dogs for walks or helping clean cages. It’s a great way to help out animals and you might even meet a new four-legged family member!

All of these activities are a blast to experience, especially from the comfortable country homes that make up Park City Vacation Rentals’ villa rental. Book your stay today!
