A Local Feast at the Park City Farmer’s Market

Everyone gets excited when the Farmer’s Market kicks off their summer season!  This market, located in the lower parking lot of Canyons Resort, brings together a multitude of of local farmers and food producers.  Each Wednesday from 12PM-6PM, market-goers can enjoy strolling around the booths, sampling the fresh produce offerings, tasting a variety of farm fresh food offerings, and enjoying the sense of community that comes along with the farmers market.  Some of the items available in the past have been fresh local hummus, locally famed corn, peaches and apples, and amazing local cheeses and meats.  You can literally head to the market and shop for dinner and dessert all at once!  There is usually some unique jewelry vendors as well as live music and entertainment, and you can even get a chair massage in between snacking!  Although the market is well attended, you’ll never feel crowded or rushed as you peruse the offerings – and you’ll undoubtedly make it a mandatory stop each time you visit Park City in the summer and fall.  Visit http://parkcityfarmersmarket.com/ for market details.

Dine At Chez Betty This Weekend As A Part Of The Food & Film Weekend

The Slow Food movement has taken off not only across the country, but here in Park City as well!  The idea behind Slow Food is to help in preserving local and regional cuisine, and encourages the sourcing of food and goods from your local network.  Throughout the year different groups host Slow Food events, and this weekend, the Park City Film Series will be presenting “Slow Food & Film Festival”.  This is a super cool event, and partners together film and local food inspired by the films being shown.  The film and dining schedule is as follows:

Friday, June 1, 7PM:  “Julie and Julia” followed by a French dinner inspired by the film at Chez Betty

Saturday, June 2, 7PM: “Big Night”.  Dine after the movie at Buona Vita and enjoy Italian Cuisine inspired by the movie

Sunday, June 3, 6PM: “Choclat”.  Before and after the film, local bakers will hold a bake sale, so you’ll have lots of amazing treats for during the screening and for the ride home!

Films will be screened at the Park City Library and Education Center, located at 1225 Park Avenue.
