If you’re thinking about coasting down the mountain at breathtaking speeds, the Alpine coaster at PCMR is open for the entire weekend. Since Memorial Day is the official segway into summer at Park City, you can enjoy anything from hiking, biking, mountain, climbing, and hot-air ballooning. You’ll never run out of things to do in Park City over the weekend.

If you like shopping, you can take a stroll up and down Park City’s historic main street for some unique gifts and ideas. For more conventional shopping, head to the Tanger Outlets where you’ll find everything you need from clothing to baby strollers. It’s the perfect time of the year to check out some of the deals available at Utah’s favorite resort.

If you feel like catching a movie, the Park City Film Series is doing a screening of the much-anticipated, “Grand Budapest Hotel,” which is sure to be a big hit. The Egyptian Theater is also showing “Driving Miss Daisy.”

While in Park City, be sure to check out some of the discounts on hotels and accommodations. With summer right around the corner, some of Park City’s best hotels are offering some great discounts on rooms. Some of them are even offering discounts for military personnel. Park City’s mild and temperate climate in the mountains makes it the perfect spot for your next spring vacation.

On Sunday, May 25, be sure to visit historic Park City along the Main Street. Shop for anything from original Native American Art to handcrafted furniture and unique clothing. You can also listen to the sounds of the AM Bump Trio from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Miner’s Park.

If you decide to stay in the city over the weekend, there are also plenty of Memorial Day activities in downtown Salt Lake as well. The Salt Lake Bees baseball team will host a Military Appreciation and Fireworks night at Smith’s Ballpark on Saturday, May 24. Military personnel with an ID can get in free.

Fort Douglas also holds its Annual Memorial Day program, where you can witness an official Memorial Day service on Monday, May 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
If you like race cars, Rocky Mountain Raceway also holds its Military Appreciation Day, beginning at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, May 26.

Memorial Day is a great time to celebrate with plenty of activities in both Park City and Salt Lake. Spend a day in the sun, but be sure to bring lots of sunscreen. But don’t forget, Memorial Day is the day we celebrate for our fallen veterans.
