Concerts at Park City is hosting the 4th annual concert series that will take place during the Sundance Film Festival. This concert series will encourage attendees to donate food or funds for the Utah Food Bank.
According to Concerts at Park City creator Stephanie DeGraw, there are three goals for the series:
• Help the hungry by collecting canned food, as well as raising monetary funds
• Expose independent musicians to movie industry insiders
• To give the public inexpensive or free concerts
Says DeGraw, who is also Power Media Entertainment president, “So many Americans cannot afford to feed themselves or their families.” She continues by saying that she is dedicated to helping families and individuals who may not be able to afford food on their own.
She continues in saying that “Hunger is a problem many people may not realize is in our own backyard.” She also says that one of her goals is building a society where people are not hungry. She says that we all need to work together to do this.
Ginette Bott, Chief Development Officer for Utah Food Bank says that the organization is very grateful for the support of Concerts at Park City. She emphasizes that education and awareness are important initiatives of the Food Bank. She continues that brining hunger awareness to the forefront in the eyes of filmmakers and fans from around the world is a wonderful way to further the mission of fighting hunger.
At past Sundance Film Festivals, DeGraw noticed there wasn’t a way for independent artists to get much exposure around the large number of influential people. “I wanted to create showcases where artists can perform for music supervisors, film directors and entertainment industry types by coming to Park City. And all of our concerts are open to the public.” Sacha Delone of SuperGlam was one of Concerts at Park City first success stories. This artist was invited to perform more during the festival and subsequently landed international gigs.
DeGraw says, “We have such a high caliber of artists that join us each year, and there is a style to fit everyone’s tastes,” She also says that they receive entries from around the world. These entries are judged on talent, showmanship, fans and audience appeal.
Concerts at Park City is accepting musicians’ applications to perform until December 6th. The Sundance Film Festival will run from January 21 through 31. We at Park City Rental Properties invite you to join us at this great concert series!
