Halloween is just around the corner and with it comes some exciting events and activities to enjoy. In addition to that, you will find the fall season to be a delightful time to experience Park City for the first or hundredth time. Here are some things you can do for Halloween in Park City this year:

 

2021 Salk Lake City Haunted Half

If you want to experience the big city during your Park City vacation, you will find that Salt Lake City is just a half hour away. Spend a Saturday exploring Salt Lake City with all of its unique activities including this year’s Salt Lake City Haunted Half. This is Salt Lake City’s spooky inspired half marathon taking place at Sugar House Park. This all-day event lets you enjoy a half marathon or 5K run to help you earn your drinks and treats found later in the evening. There is also a kids run where they can try their own race while decked out in their favorite costume. The Haunted Half will take place on October 23rd starting at 8:00 AM in Salt Lake City.

Book a Ghost Tour

One of the spookiest ways to celebrate Halloween right here in Park City is by booking a ghost tour with Park City Ghost Tours. Their spooky showings take you around Downtown Park City as you learn all about the haunted buildings located off Main Street. Park City has a rich mining history that often resulted in many deaths early on for settlers. This 75-minute tour is perfect for all ages and is not too spooky for young children. Make sure to walk comfortable shoes as you navigate around Main Street for the entirety of the tour. Each tour starts at Miner’s Park at 8:00 PM sharp.

While Park City does not offer much in actual Halloween events or activities it more than makes up for it with exciting outdoor activities. The first one you need to experience is mountain biking on the 450 miles of trails that surround Park City. There is a trail for every experience level so you can find something perfect for you. This is a guided educational tour where you’ll get to explore the beautiful Swaner Preserve. On this tour you’ll get to try some neat things, like identifying animal tracks. There might be a decent amount of snow, so come prepared with snowshoes! Or, you can rent them from the EcoCenter too. The terrain is mild and relatively flat, so other than some snow, it’s easy to navigate. That makes it fun for the whole family.

Park City Farmer’s Market

Visiting the farmer’s market is always a relaxing and fun way to spend time with the family. Plus, you always bring home the tastiest of treats and the cutest of souvenirs. Stop by on your way to the mountain trails for some hiking snacks, or take your time milling around and choosing locally made jams and jellies and organic veggies to take back to your rental home and cook up in the evening. The last farmer’s market of October will be the day before Halloween, so make sure to grab some sweets!

Park City Ghost Tour

Park City Ghost Tour offers historical tours of downtown Park City. The tours take you through the history of Park City, pointing out historical buildings and locations where there have been many paranormal reports and sightings. The tour guides dress up in outfits from the 1800s to add to the ambiance of the tour. Tours are held every night in October and tickets can be purchased from guides at the beginning of the tour. Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for children 16 and under.

 

Free Screening of Frankenweenie

Park City Film Series, a single-screen art film house in the heart of downtown is showing a free screening of Frankenweenie on October 27 at 4 p.m. Frankenweenie is an animated comedy by Tim Burton. The film follows a little boy who tries to bring his beloved dog back to life.

 

Park City Halloween on Historic Main Street

Main Street is closed down for the afternoon and evening on Halloween, so clowns, ghosts, and witches can walk the streets. From 3 – 5 p.m. shops along the street hand out candy to little ghosts and ghouls. At 5 p.m. is the famous Howl-o-Ween parade. Leashed, costumed dogs and their owners will march down Heber Avenue for the parade. Parking can be hard to find, so it is a good idea to arrive early.

 

Crawl-o-Ween

If you are looking for some adult Halloween fun, check out the Park City Halloween-themed bar crawl. This bar crawl, called “A Nightmare on Main Street,” will lead the group around downtown to different bars. Participants can go at their own pace, and each bar will have drink specials for the pub crawl. The pub crawl will be held on Thursday, October 11 from 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. Early bird tickets start at $20 and include a signature bar crawl shirt, a free welcome drink at registration, two free drink tickets, a souvenir button, and drink specials at each bar the crawl stops at.

Halloween on Main Street is probably one of city’s most beloved events. Dress up with your kids and go trick or treating on Main Street from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Merchants on the street will be handing out sweet treats for all. And don’t miss the famous Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade. Dress up your furry friend and stroll down Main Street in this furry favorite!

 

Trick or Treating at Tanger Outlets

Tanger Outlets is also hosting trick or treating. Trick-or-Treat with Tangeroo offers the first 500 kids a goodie bag, while their parents will get treated to a 20% off voucher and a coupon book.

 

Your Weekend in Park City with More Spooky Events

Halloween season also brings lots of other great events!

Check out “Carrie The Musical” at the Egyptian Theater. This theater event is based on the Stephen King novel, with a musical twist. Catch the show Saturday, October 29th at 2 pm. Tickets are $19 for adults and $14 for those 17 and under. Tickets purchased at the door are $5 more.

The Spirits and Spirits Costume Ball at OP Rockwell invites you to dress up and enjoy some drinks and music. One of Park City’s favorite local bands, Rage Against the Supremes, will provide live music for the party! Tickets are $20 and the festivities start at 8 p.m.

Flanagan’s will host its popular Halloween celebration, Tim Burton Weekend, from October 28-31. The bar will show Tim Burton movies each night. There are also drink specials, live music, and Halloween décor to get you in the mood!
