Want to get to know the rich history of the Park City area? One of the best ways is to visit some of our wonderful museums’ in Park City. Take a look at some of our favorites below!

The Park City Museum

This museum is a nonprofit organization that studies the history of Park City. The museum’s mission is to “preserve, protect, and promote Park City’s history and heritage.” The museum is housed inside of Historic City Hall, built in 1885, and features exhibits from the earliest days of Park City to the present. One of the favorite exhibits is Park City’s Territorial Jail, also known as “The Dungeon.” You can hear stories from those who inhabited the cells and even see some graffiti left by these folks.

You can take in a quick talk by the museum director before beginning your self-guided exploration of the museum. And those with families can take in the “Park City History Detectives” activity. You and your kids will be guided through the exhibits and will love delving deeper into Park City’s history.
