Since the early 1900s, the Summit County Fair has been part of the area’s cultural and social fabric. This year’s event will be held from August 2 through August 9 and will be full of many exciting events.

Just a short 20-minute drive from Park City, the Fair will be held at the Summit County Fairgrounds in Coalville.

Fair Highlights

This year’s event will give you the opportunity to enjoy a truly exciting Western-themed event. You’ll have no problem finding something that you will love watching or participating in. Check out some of these Fair highlights.

 

PRCA Rodeo

Experience true Western life at the PRCA rodeo on Friday and Saturday night. Enjoy non-stop excitement and heart-pounding thrills as you watch top professional rodeo competitors compete for a spot at the 2014 National Finals Rodeo. You can watch events including:

• Bareback Riding
• Bull Riding
• Barrel Racing
• Bull Riding
• Roping
• Steer Wresting

 

Little Buckaroo Rodeo

Come see some pint-sized, up and coming rodeo stars compete in events like mutton busting and calf riding. These aren’t the cuddly animals from the petting zoos. You’ll watch as riders work hard to stay atop these animals for six seconds to win prizes. You can also see these youngsters compete in barrel racing, roping, and sheep milking.

 

Demolition Derby

On Saturday, August 2, come out to one of the favorite events of the Fair — the demolition derby. Watch as drivers battle it out by smashing and crashing vehicles to win money prizes, and best of all, bragging rights!

 

Vendors and Exhibits

Stroll through the fairgrounds and see exhibits from artists, jewelers, and crafters. Enjoy a tasty treat at one of the food vendors or pick up some local produce at the local farmers’ market.

Other events you’ll find at the fair include the Youth Pet Fest, the Fair Parade and livestock exhibits. During the Fair you can also enjoy live performances by musicians, hypnotists, and magicians.

The Summit County Fairgrounds are located at 202 E. Park Road. You can conveniently park your car and take the complimentary shuttle service to the fairgrounds to avoid parking hassles. Shuttle stops will be at:

Coalville City Hall/Zions Bank, 10 Main Street
Summit Count Courthouse/LDS Church Park Lot, 60 North Main Street.
