Escape the rising temperatures this summer and make your way for the mountains. More specifically, make your way to Park City where you can find a whole new adventure waiting for you. Park City is the ideal spot for a summer vacation, but you need to act fast before everyone’s summer break comes to a close. Park City Labor Day is the perfect last summer opportunity you have to experience a variety of summer activities and events. Take a look at what is going on around Park City for this year’s Labor Day Weekend.

Miners Day

When you come visit Park City for Labor Day you will be making it just in time for one of our exclusive events that only happens here. Park City has an incredible history of mining that brought our initial settlers to the mountain. Each year Park City celebrates this heritage with our annual Miners Day and its related activities.

Come take a look into our rich history and enjoy a variety of events taking place on Monday, September 4th. The festivities begin at 7:30 am for the Miners Day Breakfast over at City Park. Enjoy freshly prepared food with locals and visitors all around you. Like any other city-wide celebration, Miners Day also includes a 5K run. Enjoy this short run at City Park where a fundraiser will take place to help local animal shelters. All runners will receive a goody bag at the end along with a medal. Registration is open for the race and is required before you can participate.

Immediately following the run make your way to Downtown Park City for the Running of the Balls. This wildly popular event has over 10,000 balls running down the street in a barricaded area. Proceeds from the ball purchases are also donated with prizes also available. Next up on the agenda is the Miners Day Parade where you will find incredible floats walking down the street. After the Running of the Balls and Miners Day Parade food trucks will be stationed back at City Park. Enjoy the beer garden where the adults can enjoy an adult beverage or two after all of the festivities. Live music and kids’ games will also be available in the park for this all-ages event. Don’t miss out on Miners Day this year in Park City!

Ride the Alpine Slide

Just because it is getting close to the end of summer does not mean you cannot have fun down Park City’s Alpine slides. Come visit the Utah Alpine Slide located at Park City Mountain Resort for a thrilling ride down the mountain. The Alpine Slide is one of the longest slides in the world and is over 3,000 feet long. You will ride on a wheeled luge that takes you down at thrilling speeds. You can also purchase tickets to also ride the mountain coaster while you are at Park City Mountain Resort. It is Utah’s largest coaster and will take you across a mile of track with speeds up to 25 miles per hour! Enjoy the incredible mountain scenery as you are whisked from start to finish on the mountain coaster. Additional summer activities to enjoy at Park City Mountain Resort include the zip line tracks, gem panning, disc golf, mini golf, and the legacy launcher. Now that is some fun under the sun just in time for Labor Day!

Enjoy a Round of Golf
