Check Out Historic Main Street

Park City is a favorite destination here in the Wasatch Back of the Utah Rockies any time of the year. The summer season make it a lot easier to get out and explore the city as the snow and cold weather has left. One of our favorite parts of Downtown Park City is Historic Main Street.

The buildings retain the historic look and importance in the area while housing brand new restaurants and shops. Historic Main Street is where you are going to find the best fine art galleries, the best restaurants, and some unique boutiques and shops to browse through.

Some restaurants to check out include Flanagan’s on Main that is a traditional Irish pub with live entertainment and delicious food. You will of course find your favorite Irish ales on tap or Irish whiskies. Firewood is a local fine dining establishment that uses wood fire dishes. You will find juicy and tender steaks that are unbelievable.

For fine art, visit Main Street Gallery or the Kimball Art Center (now located in the Bonanza Park district). These venues offer a curated look at local and international contemporary works, often hosting artist receptions during holiday weekends.

The boutiques on Historic Main Street offer top of the line fashion at places such as Flight Boutique and Cake Boutique. Historic Main Street has plenty to keep you occupied during your Memorial Day Weekend stay.

Take a Drive on the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway

One of the best scenic drives to enjoy is found on Mirror Lake Scenic Byway. Drivers will follow alongside Route 150 on a drive that extends 42 miles long. While snow removal efforts begin in spring, opening dates for high-altitude routes vary by year. Check the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) website for the current status of the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, as it typically opens between mid-May and early June.

Those who partake in the experience will find themselves reaching over 10,000 feet in elevation at Bald Mountain Pass before descending once again. The name comes from Mirror Lake that is found alongside the route. You will also be able to stop at various picnic stops, overlooks, waterfalls, hiking trails, campgrounds, and lakes. A drive on the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway is a quieter yet entrancing activity to enjoy over Memorial Day Weekend.

Check Out Local Hikes

Now that summer is here you can go out and see the incredible hiking trails in the area. Park City is known best for our incredible winter sports but the summer can be just as fun. There are quite a few trails in the immediate vicinity for you to get to. In fact, there are over 130 trails just in the Park City area alone. One of the top and most popular trails for you to check out is Bloods Lake Trail.

This out and back trail can be found just outside Park City and takes less than an hour and a half to complete. This moderate trail is approximately 2.8 miles long and is open year round. While spikes are recommended in the winter you can just bring your typical hiking gear with you for Memorial Day Weekend.

For Memorial Day 2026, remember that the Bloods Lake trailhead now requires a parking fee ($5 on weekdays, $8 on weekends). Since the lot fills quickly, check the Mountain Trails Foundation live webcam before heading out. For longer trails check out Lackawaxen Lake Trail or Rob’s Trail each with incredible views.

Additional Summer Activities

You will find plenty of other outdoor activities that will make for an adventurous Park City Memorial Day weekend. Take the family horseback riding at a local stable or ranch. The trails are not just for hiking but can also be explored by mountain bike. Fly fishing is a great activity especially before the hotter summer temperatures kick in.

Hot air ballooning is a great way to check out Park City from high up in the air. A variety of zip line courses can be found nearby for a thrilling and fast experience in the treetops. You have so much to look forward to when you choose Park City for Memorial Day.
