Planning for Dinner Around Park City
The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year for Park City. Everyone wants to come to check out the picture-perfect winter scenery or enjoy a day at the local mountains for skiing and snowboarding. One thing to always plan for when visiting Park City for Christmas is dinner reservations. There are a variety of incredible restaurants to check out here in the city during your visit.
Head over to Historic Main Street for some of the best fine dining establishments you have ever seen. For Christmas Day, popular spots like The Glitretind and Apex fill up months in advance. Most Main Street restaurants use OpenTable or Resy for bookings; check for availability starting in mid-October to secure a table. We highly recommend treating yourself to the incredible food prepared here in Park City!
Snow Globe Stroll
Park City also features plenty of holiday-themed attractions over the city during the winter. Since the Pandemic Park City has been putting on the Snow Globe Stroll for everyone to see. Life-size snow globes are placed all over Downtown Park City for you to marvel at. Each one is interactive and features a local theme that can include local wildlife or skiing.
There is a printable list of all the snow globes available online with the Historic Park City Alliance so you can keep track of each one you have seen. Local businesses will be on hand serving out complimentary hot cocoa to the scavengers.
This past season, the Snow Globe Stroll ran from November 20, 2025, through January 5, 2026. Visitors can generally expect a similar window for the upcoming 2026 holiday season, with life-sized globes typically appearing downtown just before Thanksgiving.
Park City Holiday Spectacular and Sing-Along
Each year the Egyptian Theatre puts on their annual holiday performance of the Park City Holiday Spectacular and Sing-Along. This is a local family tradition where you can enjoy live holiday state entertainment that includes singing along to your favorite holiday tunes, joyful skits of holiday stories, and live dancing.
This variety show has a little bit of something for everyone so even those who do not typically like theatre performances will still have a blast. While the 2026 schedule is yet to be announced, the 2025 performances ran from December 12th through the 21st. Based on this tradition, you should look for ticket releases at the Egyptian Theatre starting in early autumn 2026.
Go Skiing at Deer Valley Mountain
The primary reason why Park City is so popular for the holiday season is our incredible skiing conditions at the local mountains. Deer Valley Resort is one of the top-ranked ski resorts in the country year after year. Here you will find a family-friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome on the slopes.
Deer Valley Resort typically targets the first week of December for its season opener. In 2025, the mountain opened on December 6th; travelers planning for Christmas 2026 should monitor the official resort reports in November for the exact opening date.
Deer Valley Resort offers everything you need to make sure you have a successful visit. The onsite rental shop is stocked with all the rental gear you need from boards, jackets, and helmets. You can even purchase state-of-the-art equipment if you are looking for a permanent addition to your collection.
You can also enjoy introductory lessons that are perfect for children and those who are brand new to skiing or snowboarding. Lift passes are easy to purchase with finding the slopes on the mountain even easier to do.
