While primarily thought of as a winter sports town, Park City is a versatile vacation destination, offering a variety of activities and attractions designed to please even the pickiest of travelers. Spend your hours on spa days and shopping expeditions, hiking trails, and fly-fishing trips, and even golf journeys; it just keeps getting better the longer you stay! And because we know that many of our ski fans are also golf enthusiasts, we are providing this guide for your Park City Utah golf journey.
Day 1: Park City Golf Course, 1541 Thaynes Canyon Drive
If it’s named after our town, you know it has to be good! This public course features rolling hills and mountain views and isn’t intimidating for the novice golfer. Book your tee time up to a week in advance by calling 435-615-5800.
Forgot Your Clubs?
It happens to everyone. We get so focused on the minutiae of packing and trying to remember everything, we forget the most important things, including golf clubs needed for a golf getaway! Fortunately, Utah Ski & Golf at 698 Park Avenue rent the perfect sets for men and women for prices as low as $25.99 a day! Of course, if you are interested in purchasing a new set of clubs, the pro shops attached to any of the courses you visit will have what you are looking for.
Day 2: Park Meadows Golf Club, 2000 Meadows Drive
We’ve decided to intermingle some private courses along with the public courses because we know that many of our guests have family or friends who are members of the courses and can invite our visitors to be their guests at the club. Park Meadows is one of our favorite private courses, being a Jack Nicklaus signature course. Featuring lush greens, tranquil water hazards, and a recently renovated clubhouse, if you know the right people, this could be your chance to walk in the steps of golf’s most talented legends.
The 19th Hole
Most of the courses you visit during your golf getaway will have a place to sip and savor after the game, but if you are interested in some delicious craft brews, a visit to Wasatch Brewery at 250 Main Street will give you the sip sensations you are seeking! Check out the spicy goodness of their Jalapeño Cream Ale (5% alcohol by volume) or enjoy the smooth goodness of their Evo amber; they also offer a full bar that includes delicious wines, handmade cocktails, and your favorite brand of spirits, offering a pleasant way to while away the hours.
Day 3: Canyon’s Golf, 3720 N Sundial Court
We love how Park City continues to grow with the times, and Canyon’s Golf is the perfect example; this new Park City Utah golf course has rapidly become a favorite with all who have played there! This par-70 course can be challenging to more experienced players, while not intimidating the novices and your tee time can be set by calling 435-615-4728 up to a month in advance.
The Little Extras
A day spent on the courses is one well spent, but there are a few accessories you could add that will make it even better, and that includes a good cigar to be enjoyed as you zip along the fairways! The Marketplace & Liquor Store, located in the Canyons Parking Lot at 3000 Canyons Resort Drive has a surprisingly decent selection of your favorite stogies, as well as wine, beer, and liquor that you can purchase to enjoy in your Park City Vacation Rentals golf escape.
Day 4: Painted Valley Golf Course, 6347 Nicklaus Valley Road
What do you get when you “team-up” Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus? This unbelievably stunning course that has a reputation for being the most difficult in Park City! Featuring two lush courses, the Pete Dye Canyon Course is an award-winning stretch of acreage that intimidates as it impresses, and although the Nicklaus Painted Valley Course is private, it is worth the effort to find a way to play.
Day 5: Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club, 8770 Jeremy Road
We love our professional golfers, and nowhere is that more evident than at the Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club, the only Arnold Palmer signature course in the state. This private course has received more than its share of accolades and is known for its fast greens and challenging fairways.
Day 6: TopGolf, 920 Jordan River Boulevard, Midvale
As your journey comes closer to its conclusion, today we will be taking a little drive to the town of Midvale for a fun time at TopGolf. Featuring 100 hitting bays that are climate controlled, so you can play in any season, and a rooftop terrace with a fire pit, this is your opportunity to relax before it’s time to head home.
Something Delicious Before You Hit the Road
The drive from Midvale back to your vacation abode isn’t a long one, but after a day on the links, chances are you’ll be hunting a place to have a good meal before you hit the road. Bohemian Brewery at 94 7200 S in Midvale is the perfect place to do so! Serving craft beers and European style foods that are hearty and soul-satisfying, they are open again after a brief pandemic closure. Sample an appetizer to tide you over until you get back to Park City (their pierogi teaser created from house-made pierogies topped with bacon and onion and served with dill sour cream are our favorites) or chow down on a full meal of meatloaf, topped with mushroom sauce and served with mashed potatoes and fresh veggies. There are no wrong choices at the Bohemian Brewery, just delicious meal options!
