Spring always makes us think of promises offered as we witness the beauty of Mother Nature everywhere we turn. The bright green of a young bloom pushing its way through the dark soil, the sun’s rays brightening, bringing a touch of heat to the winter landscape, and the fresh smell of a new start. We love Park City no matter what the season, but during the spring, the promises offered are ones we can’t ignore. This guide to your spring journey to Park City is the best we know to experience it all!
A Walk in the Park
Warmer days make us want to get out there and enjoy the change of the season, and the parks in Park City are the perfect places to do so. Visit the Old Town Neighborhood Park and walk while holding hands with your favorite traveling partner; wide paths lead the way through lush gardens and alongside a babbling creek. Late-season snows may keep the white stuff on the ground longer than normal, but if you bundle up, you will want to spend as much time at this sweet spot in Utah!
Keep It Outside
Although experienced season “detectives” can immediately spot the faint signs of spring, sports enthusiasts will appreciate the extended ski season, as the Park City and Deer Valley ski resorts stay open until April! Enjoy warmer air in the town while you schuss down the slopes on the snow just a little longer; winter enthusiasts may not be as thrilled about the end of the season, but the promise of spring may still lighten their hearts!
Bring It In
The next logical step in your spring journey may not have much to do about spring, but it has everything to do with improving your journey! Après ski helps warm up your tired body from the inside out, and the Bridge Café and Grill on Main Street is one of our favorite places to participate! Offering the opportunity to see how Brazil’s national cocktail (the caipirinha) compares to the all-American spirit (bourbon) and featuring an American menu prepared with a spicy Brazilian twist, the Bridge is great for après ski, breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
Discover the History
Park City went through a few transformations before it became the vibrant and cosmopolitan city it is today, and if you feel the best way to enjoy a vacation in a new spot is to learn all about its history, a visit to the Park City Museum may be exactly what you need! Located at 528 Main Street, it tells the whole story of how our town went from a rough and rowdy mining town to the sophisticated home of the Sundance Film Festival; to be completely honest, it is a fascinating story to hear! Open limited hours again after pandemic closures, guests can plan to visit anytime between 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM Wednesday through Sunday. Masks will need to be worn, and hand sanitation stations can be found throughout the museum.
Play Like an Olympian
If you have ever wondered what it would feel like to ride a bobsled like they do in the Olympics, now is the time to learn! Open through the early days of April (so be sure to schedule your adventure prior to April 3), the Utah Olympic Park located at 3419 Olympic Parkway offers a genuine bobsled experience. Piloted by a professional to ensure your safety and costing $175 per person after January 3rd, it is an exciting opportunity for visitors who are 16 years of age or older and at least 100 pounds. As you and your family fly down the track, realizing that some of your favorite Olympians rode this same track while performing in the Olympics makes the experience even better! Safety measures are taken to avoid the spread of COVID.
