The world today can be divided into two groups of people: those whose eyes sparkle a bit brighter when the first Christmas decorations appear on the shelves of their favorite store, and those whose dark souls come to life with the first sighting of cobwebs, goblins, and cackling witches. If you belong to the latter demographic, your Halloween visit to Park City will satisfy your need for candy and costumes, and your rental in Park City Utah will satisfy your desire for luxury and style!

Don’t Look for Cobwebs in Your Park City UT Rental
You won’t find any cobwebs, real or fake, in our luxurious properties, but you will find everything you dreamed the perfect Park City UT rental could be! Gourmet kitchens with high-end appliances, spacious living areas with fireplaces and state-of-the-art televisions, and bedrooms that provide a tranquil place to retreat to at the end of a long day of Halloween hijinks. Turn off all the lights and take turns telling scary stories by the light of the fire. Grab a glass of witches’ brew (otherwise known as wine) and head to the outdoor hot tub to watch the stars twinkle and the lights of Park City shine. Watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” is a holiday tradition, and our homes offer many choices as to where to watch it: in the living room with the rest of the family, in the bedroom with popcorn and hot cocoa, or in some of our more luxurious homes in the game room while paying half attention to the competitive game of foosball taking place just across the room.
A Great Pumpkin of Your Own
The television special is a tradition in households all over the world, but if you’re afraid you might have to miss out on carving your own, you can just wipe those fears away! The Park City Nursery, located at 4459 N Highway 224, allows visitors to pick out their own pumpkins, find their way through a maze, or even explore a haunted forest. The Park City Nursery Pumpkin Patch is a local favorite that’s about to become yours as well. And when you bring that perfect pumpkin back to your Halloween escape, you will find most of the tools you need to carve it in our fully equipped kitchens. Take your time to ensure your masterpiece is especially creepy and place it out on the balcony to scare the neighbors! If the guts and gooey stuff that comes out of a pumpkin don’t sit well with you or your kids, simply draw your design with a permanent marker, or even better, buy a fake pumpkin from Michaels, 1688 Uinta Way Ste B and carve it instead. Also known as Funkins, these carvable foam pumpkins are easy to manipulate, aren’t messy, and best of all can be taken home to use year after year, making a perfect souvenir of the fun you had the year you spent Halloween in Park City.
The Beauty of Park City
Although Park City is beautiful during all times of the year, the entire state is at its most colorful during the fall season and our guests will want to get out and enjoy the landscape as much as possible! A visit to Prospector Park, found at 2500 Wyatt Earp Way, is a joy during any season, but at Halloween, sitting on the benches under a canopy of colorful leaves watching your children play on the playground in the crisp autumn air is a treat that will be enjoyed by all. A walk downtown in the historic district of Park City is special no matter what season, and as you glance into storefronts decorated for the holiday, no one will blame you for all the times you stop the walk to get an even closer look at the goodies you see inside. And if you find yourself feeling a bit peaked after all the walking (and shopping!), it will definitely be time to take a jaunt over to Auntie Em’s Baked Goods, 1401 Kearns Boulevard, for something sweet and delicious.
Walk with the Spirits
Halloween is the perfect time for ghoulish costumes and haunted houses, but have you ever gone on a real ghost walk? We’re not talking about a haunted house where costumed zombies try to fake eat your brains, we’re talking about the spirits that may have met a tragic end and are doomed to walk the streets of Park City for eternity! Park City Ghost Tours offers this opportunity to scare as the guides take you to the places in-town known for the highest levels of paranormal activity. Guaranteed to spook, the stories behind the hauntings have been researched and verified. Offering 15 different stories and haunts, even the most skeptical of your traveling party will find the hairs rising on their necks as they seek to debunk that which others have tried and failed!
For those who want to explore the paranormal on their own, the Prospect Gallery located at 573 Main Street was originally built as the Park City Hotel and has been known to house a very friendly ghost. Today the walls are filled with the works of talented artists, so if you see something that appeals to you, it’s probably for sale!
Another popular paranormal spot to visit during your stay in your rental in Park City Utah is at the Egyptian Theatre, located at 328 Main Street. This historic theater was constructed in 1922, and after a rough start—the Depression was hard on everyone—managed to stay alive and become a Park City tradition. Footsteps are often heard on the wooden floor of the stage when no one is around, doors open without human help, and at times screams can be heard inside the theater—perhaps the screams of the actor who tried to rescue miners in 1902; the Egyptian wasn’t built yet, but we’re sure the spirit of the actor who so tragically lost his life could be trying to find comfort in a spot where he felt most at home during his short life. The history of any old mining town is often known to be tragic, and while we do have our share of tragedies, most of the ghosts who stake their turf here in our mountain town seem to be friendly and happy with their lot in life—uh, death! The Egyptian today is known for its off-Broadway performances, including an annual showing of Thriller by Odyssey Dance Theater held every October, another Halloween tradition we try never to miss!
Take This Party to the Streets
We take Halloween seriously in Park City, and our Halloween on Main Street event is the perfect example! There will be safe trick or treating for your favorite little zombies and Elsas and a costumed dog parade where bull terriers dressed as zebras, pit bulls adorned in tutus, pom chis in cheerleader costumes carrying miniature pom-poms will run mild through the streets. And when the last pup has pranced away, it’s time for adults to don their own costumes and hit the pubs and bars that can be found along the streets of our favorite mountain village! Fortune tellers and Freddie Kruegers at Flanagan’s on Main, witches, and warlocks at Wasatch Brew Pub, or biker chicks, belly dancers, and Buddy Holly at Boneyard Saloon & Wine Dive; even if your costume is just an orange shirt that states “This is my Halloween costume!” you’ll find a spot to celebrate that is just right for you!
