Park City is a city full of fun activities, from outdoor recreation such as skiing and hiking to world-class cuisine. If you are planning a week-long vacation full of Park City fun, there is plenty to be had by all ages. Here are some suggestions on how to spend your week.

Getting Acquainted with Park City

On your first day in Park City, it is a good idea to get acquainted with the city. Walk down Historic Main Street to check out all the local art galleries, boutiques, and stores. When you’re ready for dinner, there are several options for amazing cuisine in the downtown area.

710 Bodega Tapas and Wine is a laidback eatery serving Spanish tapas, local beer, and wine. You and your date can spend the evening splitting plates of tapas and trying wine from the region.

Brunch on Main Street

No trip to Park City is complete without a brunch on Historic Main Street. Harvest and Five5seeds are some of the most popular breakfast spots in Park City. They both offer a fresh, healthy breakfast served with coffee and tea.

Make sure to eat up as after brunch you can hop on city’s free bus and take it to the Park City Mountain or Deer Valley Resort for hiking and scenic chairlift ride. During the autumn the surrounding landscape is bursting with hues of orange, red, and yellow.

Take a Trip to The Utah Olympic Park

The Utah Olympic Park is full of fun activities to keep you busy all day long. Admission to the center is free and you can explore the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics. If you get inspired by all the athletes while you are there, you can try out the bobsled track or test your skills on the rope course. After a day at the UOP head back to Main Street to try more of downtown’s fine dining.

Take a Hike

Park City is known for its nature, so you’ll want to make sure to get a few hikes in on your vacation. Iron Canyon Trail is just a 5-minute drive from downtown Park City, making it the perfect hike for a day hike. The steep 2-mile trail takes you through the aspens and pines to an outlook overlooking Park City. During September you will have panoramic views of the beautiful fall foliage. This hike is popular among local dog owners as dogs are allowed on the trail.

After a day of hiking, rest your legs at the famous Egyptian Theater. The Egyptian Theater is the site of the Sundance Film Festival and throughout the year the host concerts, comedy events, theatre, and dance.

Watch the Sunrise from the Sky

On your last day in Park City, start your morning off with a sunrise hot air balloon ride. The hot air balloon ride will give you a bird’s eye view of Park City, Kamas Valley, and the Wasatch Mountains. Trips last an hour and a basket can hold as many as 12 people.

After you land back on the ground, spend another morning walking down Main Street. Either stop by your favorite breakfast spot or try a new one, there are several to choose from. If you are in downtown on a Sunday morning, check out the Silly Sunday Market. The market has booths selling local produce and artisan goods as well as live music and entertainment.
