Top 5 Tourist Hot Spots in Park City

HomeTop 5 in Park CityTop 5 Tourist Hot Spots in Park City

One of the best parts of any vacation is being able to check another activity or destination off your bucket list of journeys! The activities do not have to be large; they can be something as simple as kissing your partner in the rain. There are no rules as to what you should put on your list, but if your journey is bringing you to Park City, we have created this list of the hottest Park City tourist attractions to cross off that list. Choosing Park City Vacation Rentals for your getaway deserves a check, don’t you think?

High West Distillery, 703 Park Avenue

Chances are you have seen whiskey from the High West Distillery sold in stores near you, especially at Christmas, so getting to sit and sip in the actual business is a high point for many of the tourists who flock to our doors every year. In the winter you can ski right in, order your favorite bar food, and relax after a full and happy day on the slopes. In the warmer months, be sure to take a break from your hike and wander in to enjoy the same beverages you bought for your Uncle Clint last year! At the time of this writing, tours of the distillery have been temporarily halted due to the pandemic, but we are hoping that won’t last much longer.

Egyptian Theater, 328 Main Street

We are so excited to announce that the Egyptian Theater, built in 1926, has survived yet another “national disaster” and is once again open and operating under full capacity! The Egyptian, built to capitalize on the world’s interest in the Pyramids (King Tut’s Tomb had recently been discovered, influencing the style of this sturdy building.) has served as the heart of Park City over its long history, surviving the Depression, thriving through wars and internal strife in the 40s, 50s, and 60s, and in 1981, it became the home of the Sundance Film Festival, although it was called the US Film & Video Festival at the time. Today, after closing temporarily during the worst of the pandemic, the Egyptian is open again offering live performances, special events, and a historical importance that cannot be overlooked!

Utah Olympic Park, 3419 Olympic Parkway

Home to the 2002 Winter Olympics, Utah Olympic Park offers an exciting way to use up some of your vacation hours! Ice Skate on the Olympic Oval, open year-round, following in the “skate steps” of some of the world’s best skaters, watch the Flying Ace Allstars Freestyle Show all summer long, and learn about the history of Park City’s favorite winter activity with a visit to the Alf Engine Ski Museum! And because future Olympic caliber athletes still train at this much-loved park, there is a very real chance that you will rub shoulders with future gold medal winners.

Sundance Film Festival

We thought long and hard about the placement of the Sundance Film Festival, as it is world renowned and the glitz, glamour, and style of this annual event draws celebrities from all over the nation. It is, however, an event that only lasts for about two weeks out of every year, so we are keeping it firmly at number two! Visit the theaters showing your favorite independent films in person, perhaps catching a glimpse of your favorite movie star, and then check out what they have to offer online.

Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley Ski Resort

Our number one spot is reserved for our favorite sport and because both resorts are amongst the most popular in the world, we decided to give them equal billing! Park City Mountain Resort is where the Olympic athletes train, offering world-class courses that may be intimidating to the novice skier, but that’s ok! If you haven’t skied before or you are feeling you need a refresher before heading out to the more challenging trails, 8% of PCMR trails are beginner, 42% are for intermediates, and the remaining 50% promises to give you the thrill of a lifetime! Ski and snowboard classes are offered at PCMR, while Deer Valley only offers ski lessons. Both mountains are hubs of activity no matter what the season, offering mountain biking and hiking trails, and in the case of Deer Valley, their Music in the Mountains summer series is back, featuring the best performers in the nation on Friday and Saturday nights!
