Park City’s Fourth of July Celebration

Most cities and towns across the country will stop what they are doing on the Fourth of July and feature a festive holiday to enjoy. Park City joins the crowd and provides the city with the annual Fourth of July Celebration that takes over Downtown Park City. This is an all-day event that will have visitors and locals celebrating our nation’s founding together. The fun begins on July 4th with the annual 5K Fun Run that is the perfect opportunity to get a few miles in under your feet.
This activity kicks off at 7:00 a.m. and is in support of Park City Ski & Snowboard. This fun run first began back in the 1980s to support young athletes in the area. Registration is required in advance and is not available the day of the race. Registration begins at $30 for children 11 and under and $50 for children 12 and older along with adults. All registered runners will receive race numbers along with race t-shirts to commemorate the event with. The July 4th Fun Run is capped at 1,000 participants so make sure to register early in case the event does sell out!
The fun does not stop there after the 5K Fun Run has come to a stop. Make sure to prepare for a whole day of festivities that will continue at 11:00 a.m. with the annual Fourth of July Parade that will march through Downtown Park City. The 2026 parade honors a massive milestone: the 250th anniversary of American Independence, with floats and displays celebrating two and a half centuries of history.
This festive parade will feature marching bands, decorative vehicles, and patriotic floats that will all march down Historic Main Street. Each year during the parade there has been a flyover event showcasing an aerial demonstration. You will have plenty to look up at in the sky and along the street for the parade!
Once the parade has come to an end the fun will move on over to City Park and Skate Park for a continuous celebration. The parks will feature a variety of live entertainment including live music starting at 12:30 p.m. There will be various children’s games on hand for the little ones to enjoy including bounce houses. Local food vendors and food trucks will be on hand dishing out delicious food, so everyone has a tasty lunch. A rugby game is always hosted for a little friendly competition in between all the festive activities!
