A good cup of coffee is a wonderful thing at almost any time of day! Coffee lovers will rejoice that Australian specialty coffee chain Campos Coffee is setting up shop in Park City. After a recent residency at La Marzocco Café in Seattle, the company decided to stay in the States for a while.

Will Young, Campos Coffee Founder and Director, said that the new Park City shop will be equipped with two La Marzocco Linea PBs. The shop will also feature Mazzer and Mythos grinders and will offer brewed options using Fetco and Alpha Dominche Steampunk.

The shop in Park City will be the eighth of the company. It will also be the first one that will be supplied by the company’s roaster in Australia, with plans for a roaster to be located in the U.S.

Campos’ Specialty Focus

Campos is dedicated to small-batch roasting on specialty machines including 64-kilo Probat and 24-kilo Diedrich machines. However, the exact production line and location of the future U.S. roaster has not been announced.

Says Young, “Though our production is high, we never want to lose the specialty focus that smaller batch roasting ensures.”

Campos will be offering many of its traditional coffee selections, along with introducing a blend that is tailored to the Park City market. Young says, “Australia is known for having highly acidic blends that cut through the milk in espresso coffees. We had to craft a blend that is rich, sweet, but lower in acidity to suit the market of Park City.”

Campos will also be using some of its existing experienced baristas. Young says that from day one, the Park City café will have the talents of three of the company’s best baristas, including Campos Operations Manager Ian Pope.

Campos Coffee says they hope to open the café at the Base of Park City Mountain Resort at 1385 Lowell Avenue in by mid-December.
