See the Changing Colors of the Leaves
Park City is located in beautiful Utah and we are surrounded by tall trees in every direction. You can enjoy a little color in your life by going leaf peeping otherwise known as looking out for the different colors of the changing leaves. You can easily just step outside in town and take a look at the many trees in the area. Another great way to see the leaves is by taking a scenic drive around the area. Some of the favorites in the area include Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, Wolf Creek Highway Pass, Provo Canyon, and Alpine Loop. These paved roads are perfect for an afternoon drive as you take in the nature around you. Round trip drives can take you anywhere from 15 minutes up to an hour depending on how far you want to go.
Go Hiking or Mountain Biking
Another great way to take in the scenery surrounding Park City is with a relaxing hike in the area. The best time to hike to see the changing colors is around late September through October. Iron Mountain Trail is a popular out and back trail that has a decently steep incline. However, the trek upward will award you with panoramic views of the area. Silver Lake Trail is a gorgeous hiking trail that is 4.7 miles altogether and has incredible views of the lake. It is easy to find located at the base of the Silver Lake Chairlift. If you prefer mountain biking there are plenty of trails to share with hikers. The Armstrong Trail is an uphill trail that allows hiking and biking. It is started at the base of the Park City Mountain Resort making it extremely easy to get to. You can choose your own adventure with the Round Valley Trail System which features a total of 40 miles of biking terrain. It features sections of trail that can be enjoyed by bikers of all experience levels.
Visit High West Distillery
There is no better way to warm yourself up on a cold autumn night than by visiting our favorite distillery in town, High West Distillery. For those who want to learn more about the process of creating whiskey, you can take one of their tours at their Blue Sky location. You will be given an educational tasting that also comes with a delicious lunch. There are two locations close to Park City letting you enjoy their award-winning spirits during the day or in the evening.
Go Golfing
The fall season is a great time for some tee time at the local golf courses. Park City is home to a variety of golf courses that are popular during the summer and fall seasons. Local courses that visitors can book a tee time at include Canyons Golf, Park City Golf Club, Solider Hollow Golf Course, and Wasatch Mountain Golf Course. Each golf course is exquisitely designed and features our beautiful mountains for the perfect backdrop.
