There’s something about the fall season that makes us fall in love with our mountain town all over again. Park City Fall Filled with Warm Feelings
It’s not just the luxury amenities and high-end materials that make our fall rentals the most desired homes in town (though they have that too!); it’s the feeling of warmth and family that emanates from the decor. Gourmet kitchens that are the heart of the home, living areas containing furnishings that are plush and comfortable, and bedrooms that invite you to shut the door and block out the world, if only for the night. Each property is different, decorated in the style that appeals to its owner, but all will feel like home from the minute you first walk in the door, and when you add in luxurious touches such as state of the art electronics, hot tubs on the deck, and million-dollar views, no one will be surprised when you find yourself reluctant to leave at the end of your stay!
After exploring all that Park City in the fall has to offer on a perfect fall day, coming home to a glass of wine, a romantic movie, and a roaring fire in the fireplace will convince you that there is no other place you would want to be! And when your muscles are aching from that hike along the Iron Mountain Trail, a long bath in the deep master suite tub is the surest way to loosen up for a long night’s sleep. If yours doesn’t have a deep tub, many of our fall escapes come with a hot tub which will work just as well
Falling for Fun
Our advice for first time fall visitors is to get outside ASAP! Park City fall is absolutely perfect for hiking, biking, or simply sitting outside on your deck enjoying the views that are everchanging and always breathtaking! Take time for a lunch of Baked Macaroni & Cheese from Windy Ridge Café on cooler days or hang out at the No Name Saloon enjoying one of their signature cocktails; fall food and drink options are endless in Park City and the wonderful weather will ensure you have a hearty appetite to appreciate it all!
Colorfully Breathtaking
Not every traveler enjoys a good hike, but every traveler will love the views available as they partake in a scenic drive of the Utah mountains. Guardsman Pass is one of our favorite leafing expeditions, starting in Park City and ending in Salt Lake City if you have the time; if not, Big Cottonwood Canyon is the perfect place to turn around and head back to your fall escape. Offering a last peak of the wildlife before they hide away for the winter and forests of trees dressed in their fall finest, this route closes for the winter, which can begin in late November, so plan accordingly. The Mirror Lake Scenic Byway isn’t just popular for Park City residents, but for everyone who visits our state from all over the world. It also is closed in the winter and can last up to three hours, depending on how often you stop to take photographs of the scene unfolding before your eyes. Groves of aspens turning a flaming orange and yellow are unforgettable and photograph beautifully as you take the Wolf Creek Highway Pass, and the many pullouts along the drive will give you plenty of opportunities to prove us right. There is no wrong way to enjoy the beauty of a Utah autumn day, and these drives are perfect examples, so pack some snacks, a camera, and get in the car for a Sunday drive on ANY day of the week!
Park City Farmers Market
Although we are a cold climate, our Park City Farmers Market stays open through the third week of October and is a favorite of everyone who visits. It is open on Wednesdays from noon until 6 PM and located at 1315 Lowell Avenue at Park City Mountain Village near the Silver King Loft. The market offers fresh produce to help keep you healthy after all the rich vacation food you’ve been ingesting and a variety of merchandise that you just won’t be able to live without! Pick up a piece of handmade jewelry for your 13-year-old niece, a scenic painting created by a local artist for your mom, or some homemade jams or jellies to pack in your suitcase. The taste of raspberry jam on your morning toast will instantly transport you back to the cool fall day you spent in Park City, helping you face a busy morning at work with a sweetened disposition!
