Twice a year Park City hosts a cocktail contest open to all local area bartenders. It’s a fantastic event with proceeds going to a local charity, and it allows attendees a chance to taste-test some amazing and unique drink concoctions. A panel of judges deliberates and assigns points to each entry, and after numerous very competitive rounds, a winner is crowned. This spring, the lucky recipient of the coveted Spring Cocktail Contest top honors was the Deer Valley Grocery Cafe, and they won with their Flower & Pine cocktail. A very sophisticated beverage, it is crafted from Beefeater Gin, St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur, Zirbenz Stone Pine Liqueur and Peychaurd Bitters. What’s fantastic is that the winning cocktail is available at Park City restaurants and bars throughout the area. However, if you would like to go straight to the source, head over to the Deer Valley Grocery Cafe, sit out on their charming deck overlooking a serene pond and the slopes of Deer Valley, enjoy a bite to eat and sip away on this award winning creation.
The Flower & Pine Cocktail – The Spring 2012 Park City Cocktail Contest Winner
If cocktails aren’t your thing and you’re a bigger fan of craft brews, head to the top of Main Street and delight in one of the seasonal offering at the Wasatch Brew Pub. They always have the usual favorites on hand, like their Wasatch Hefe-weizen. This traditional German-style unfiltered wheat beer is created using a hybrid Bavarian yeast strain which brings with it the flavors of clove, licorice and banana. This is a truly authentic Hefe and has won multiple awards at the American Beer Festival! Wasatch Brew Pub also offers seasonal favorites, and their yummy summer offering if the Raspberry Wheat beer. The brew is crafted from their traditional wheat beer, and then raspberries are added to kiss it with the taste of summer…delicious! Wasatch offers many more locally made beers, visit them at 250 Main Street for lunch on their patio and a sampling of their beers. Another great local brewery is Red Rock Brewing Company, located in Kimball Junction. They too offer a wide variety of hand created beers. What’s great, is they also have homemade Rootbeer and Cream Soda for those non-beer drinkers at the table. Cheers!

Another great stop on the dining and cocktail tour is Talisker on Main, a Talisker restaurant that features an urban ambiance one would expect to find in Manhattan. Along with their fabulous menu, they offer one of the areas best wine lists and have won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for their stellar wine offerings. If you request a table in the Wine Room, you’ll be surrounded by bottle and bottles of wine all housed in thier modern wine cellar…it’s my favorite area to dine in within the restaurant! They also have a very chic outdoor dining area that includes a lovely outdoor fireplace – a fantastic setting to sit back and enjoy an amazing glass of wine on a signature Park City Summer evening!

When you’re done enjoying some fabulous mountain style cocktails, head back to your luxury vacation home located in the Silver Lake Village area of Deer Valley.
