I often write here about the amazing things to do here in Park City.  You might think that could be a daunting task to find items to list as entertainment options for our treasured visitors to this amazing little ski town.  However, it is not!  The lost of events, cultural activities, shopping opportunities, fine dining choices and outdoor activities is truly almost endless.  There is never any need to utter the words, “I’m bored!”, unless you have made the conscious effort to allow yourself to actually sit and do nothing!

Living in Park City Utah

So, what is life like at altitude, you ask? Splendid! Those of us who are lucky enough to call Park City Utah home have it pretty good.  The general cliché is; “You move here for the winters, and you stay for the summers”, and that is indeed true.

Beautiful Deer Valley at Sunset!

The winter months in Park City are pretty spectacular, to say the least.  How many locales can you visit that have such a vast array or winter activities, festivals and happenings?  For such a small community, we work hard to ensure our guests and locals always have a good time!  Although there’s nothing to complain about when you can roll out of bed and be on a chairlift in less than 30 minutes, there is so much more to this mountain community during the ski season!  I love to explore the groomed as well as off-piste cross-country ski trails available both in town, and in the surrounding Wasatch and Uinta Mountains.  The trail options are endless, and there is something for every skill level.  I also love the outdoor winter live music that is offered throughout the season.  Whether it’s at Canyons Resort Village, or on our own Main Street, the concert activity doesn’t stop just because the snow is flying!  There’s something to be said for braving the winter night’s chill, grabbing a warm beverage, and listening to some great music!  And then there’s the skiing / riding.  With three world-class resorts to choose from, all within a stone’s throw distance, you really do get spoiled living in Park City!  I am a huge fan of the friendly, fun atmosphere of Park City Mountain Resort!  They host terrain that suits every level, amazing jib parks, and fun restaurants and pubs for your après delight.  Deer Valley is in a class of its own, with five diamond service, the most amazing on-mountain cuisine you could ever imagine, and the world’s best corduroy to carve!  Last, but not least, Canyons offers all sorts of new fun restaurants, great outdoor events, and endless terrain – I don’t think you could even come close to skiing it all in one day!

Fresh Park City Powder – All For You!

But alas, winter doesn’t last forever, and once you’ve spent a summer in Park City, Utah, you’ll be glad that’s the case!  With humidity-free, balmy days, and cool mountain nights, summer rentals in Park City are truly a treat!  Last year, Mountain Town Music hosted over 300 free, live concerts – 300! My favorite weekly routine is the Wednesday night free concert series.  Each Wednesday at 6PM, Park City’s finest local bands and musicians grace the Deer Valley concert stage.  Attendees lay out blankets, bring a few lounge chairs, and enjoy an evening of free music!  The best part?  It truly is a community event – everyone brings picnic baskets, coolers, and bottles of wine to share while they catch up on each other’s busy lives.  Of course, the summer outdoor activities are unrivaled, and there just isn’t enough room to list them all here!  I do love taking my dogs for a hike on the numerous trails in the area, or grabbing my kayak or paddleboard and heading to a local reservoir to enjoy a little time on the water.  And then there’s the festivals; music festivals, food and wine festivals, arts festivals, I’m excited just thinking about all of them! My favorite is perhaps the annual Food & wine Festival, hosted each July in and around Park City.  Multitudes of vineyards are represented at vintner dinners, special events, a wine stroll and the huge tasting event at Canyons! It’s a celebration that Bacchus himself would be proud to attend!

Delicious! Food & Wine Festival

I could go on, and on about life in Park City.  The amount to do during your visit here is indeed staggering!  And let it be known, I do believe you should relax during your visit as well.  Take advantage of one of our starry mountain nights, winter, or summer, sit back in your hot tub at your vacation rental, and relish in a day well spent skiing, or hiking, or shopping, or whatever it is you’ve done.  Perhaps you’ll too become a convert and decide you might just want to spend a little more time in Park City.  And really, who could blame you?
