Thanksgiving in Park City is one of the best times to share with friends and family in the area. There are many things that you can do that will make that experience extra special.

Of course, one of the favorite things to do is experience some early season skiing. The base area at Park City Resort is scheduled to open on November 21, with opening day at Canyons Village slated to open November 27. There is really nothing better than enjoying a day of skiing or two during the holidays.

On November 28, head up to Main Street for the annual Electric Parade. Participants in the parade will light up the street from City Park to Main Street in their festively illuminated cars and bikes! There’s also the official lighting of the Town Christmas tree! The kids can meet Santa and his elves as they stroll Main Street.

You might want to take in some of that traditional holiday shopping. Moonlight Madness at Tanger Outlets begins at 10 p.m. Thanksgiving night and stores will remain open through 9 p.m. Friday.

Take in some local theatre during the holiday. The Egyptian Theatre will be presenting “Young Frankenstein” November 20-29. This new Mel Brooks musical is a sure to bring a smile to your face.

If you want a traditional experience, enjoy a Thanksgiving feast complete with a Clydesdale drawn sleigh ride. The Rocky Mountain Sleigh Company offers a package where you and your group can enjoy that sleigh ride, along with a lovely Thanksgiving dinner.

And speaking of dinner, you’ll find all sorts of wonderful (and tasty!) restaurant offerings. You can find everything from delicious buffets to all sorts of Thanksgiving menu specials. For instance, the Grub Steak and Bistro 412 will be offering prix fixe menus for the holiday.

If you choose, companies such as Cuisine Unlimited can prepare your meal for you and they will even deliver it to you. Imagine having that turkey and all the trimmings delivered so you won’t have to worry about preparing all that food.

Now on the other hand, many people truly enjoy the excitement of preparing a home cooked Thanksgiving feast.
