The weekend is here! Well, when you’re visiting Park City, the words, “I’m bored” will never be uttered!  There are plenty of Park City activities to keep you busy during your stay in the Wasatch Back – we’ve got something to make everyone smile.

Park City Activities this Weekend

The Basin Recreation Center has just the thing to get you out to enjoy the beautiful spring-like weather we’ve been experiencing. On February 25th, Basin Recreation will host a guided snowshoe hike.  Interested parties should meet at the Park City Community Church and will be snowshoeing their way down Rob’s Trail. Hikes last approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the trail selected.  Basin Recreation asks that you leave the dogs at home for this function.  Snowshoes suggested.  Yak tracks or boots may be sufficient.  Check out www.basinrecreation.org for more information.

The Park City Performing Arts Foundation always brings excellent productions to Park City each season.  This Saturday night, February 25th, at 7:30PM, the Foundation presents Nellie McKay, and her performance entitled, “I want to Live”.   Inspired by the 1958 movie of the same name, “I Want to Live!” combines Ms. McKay’s virtually unlimited gifts as a singer, songwriter, actress, pianist, ukulele player, mimic, satirist and comedian into a show that is much deeper than its surface might suggest,” writes Stephen Holden for The New York Times. Children under 16 are half price and seniors receive a 20-percent discount. You must visit the box office to receive discounted tickets.  Visit www.ecclescenter.org for further details.

Perhaps the Nellie McKay performance has you wanting to explore your creative side a little more.  Good news!  There is a new gallery on Main Street in Park City.  Nature photographer Willie Holdman has opened up a gallery at 580 Main Street – the previous address for Gallery Mar, who has moved up to 436 Main.  Willie is a Utah native, back country skier and nature enthusiast whose art stunningly showcases the wild places in the Rockies and, to a lesser extent, the Himalayas and other high-elevation locales.  Hand-made frames compliment his photos, some of which span an entire wall. In the past, Willie has sold his work through various interior designers and home décor shops but felt it was time to launch his own gallery.  Visit him on Main Street or view his catalog at www.willieholdman.com.

After indulging in all pf the aforementioned sophistication, you may feel the need to rough things up a bit. Perfect!  The Pioneers hockey team are in town this weekend.  Cheer on the fellas participating in this elite amateur league that is sure to bring you adreniline-filled entertainment! The Pioneers roster is comprised of former professional, collegiate and skilled amateur players from within the intermountain region as well as several who have travelled from various locations within the United States. Check out the action on the ice this Saturday, February 25th at 7:30PM.  You can learn more about the Pioneers by visiting www.pcpioneershockey.com.
